Do you think that it is ''posibble'' to put lens on an open face fixture 1k ,2k any kind. Would it work? , if so what effect would it have?..................just a thought.........thanks.

It would be a waste of time as far as doing it instead of using a fresnel instrument of the same wattage and size. As a creative use, it might prove interesting. Fresnel lights use highly engineered borosilicate lenses that are specifically designed to perform a certain operation (shaping a beam of light) within certain design parameters.

If I put a random "lens" in front of my Mighty Mole 2K, it would in no way resemble the output of a Mole 2k fresnel. Not only does the lens shape light beam, but fresnel lights have a mechanism that moves the bulb closer or further from the lens in order to focus the light beam.

In short, as an experiment, why not? As a practical way of working? Buy a fresnel.
