Hi ALL,

I own an SG BLADE. i have a Nikon mount i am after a Canon Fd Mount.

Can you get these off Ebay or only the Shoot 35 Manufacturer.

I am also after the m42 lens Mount.

Need to test some older cheaper slr Lenses.

Thanks

Dude could you try to keep all your questions in one thread instead of creating one new for every question you have?

Why not send an e mail to Wayne at Shoot35, he responds fast with an answer to your questions.

You can only use the lense mount from shoot35, however if you can find a nikon to fd or nikon to m42 adapter then you can use that, although back focus will be off.

Hi. New to this forum. I've been using the DVX100A for about 5 years now, and I am thinking about purchasing the letus35, and I was wondering, which Lens Mount would I need to fit my Camera? The Letus website only gives a few options:

M42 Screw Mount
Canon FD Mount
Nikon Locking Mount
Canon EF/EOS Mount
Pentax K Mount
Minolta MD mount
Ziess Contax (C/L) Mount
Leica R Mount
Olympus OM Mount
OCT19 Mount
PL Mount

Would 1, all, or none of these work with the Panasonic DVX100a?

Those are lens mount for the lenses that you will be mounting to the letus,
not the dvx mount. The letus simply screws to the 72mm thread of the dvx.

The question you should ask is, What lenses can you easily acquire, and find good value for in the long run.

When the era of the 35 lens adapter was at its peak, the lenses that was in demand are those with manual aperture rings(and that can also be changed even if not on a camera)
and usually it was the nikon/nikkors, or those for compatible with the nikon f-mount.

Some also get the old canon fd mounts.

How important is the rod bracket support system? Is it necessary, helpful, etc? And if so, which one is the best way to go? Is the "support bracket version 1" that basically "comes with" the letus 35 [for an extra 50$] even worth the money? I've noticed the other bracket support systems are between 600 and 1400 $ so I'm suspicious of one that's only 50 bucks. I'm a bit of an amatuer and still learning, so forgive me if my questions are ignorant. I've usually been the "lighting guy" vs. the cinematographer.

The rods bracket system, when used in a camera+adapter setup, becomes your base, and backbone of your entire system, it is necessary when used with most spinning gg adapters.
Get an adapter system that will grow with you. Long after you have changed your camera and ditched your 35 adapter, your rod system can be adapted to other cameras and accessories.

In my case, i didnt buy. I made one.

And that's not a rod support system, that's only the bracket to support the adapter, you'll still need the rod support itself. That piece by itself is absolutely necessary for the Letus because of the strain it will place on the camera thread, but the rod system in general is incredibly useful for any camera setup. If you ever want to mount follow focus, mattebox, battery pack, lens support etc. you'll need a support rod. The Letus rod V2 system, which I have, is very good, and they've came out with the Raptor system which should be much better.
