Lens insert or adapter ring

I have searched many matte box manufactures' site and googled it alot and none to be found that works with my Cavision matte box for the Sony PMW-EX1 camera with Nikon lenses. So I resort to DIY forum here. I found this picture and this on another thread. I want to create a foam like lens adapter or lens insert or a donut (whatever it is called properly) but I like it be foam so that it will allow my Nikon lenses to turn as I focused.

First of, what type of foam is best for this type of usage? Where or what site can I purchase it from? Second, how do I cut the foam so it is perfectly round? I already have the Cavision adapter ring AR100-77 for my EX1 lens, but I need the foam to work with smaller lens size like many Nikon wide angle to standard size lenses. If possible, I like to cut the foam and build onto this adapter ring.

Any help is much appreciated.

Okay, I already found all the materials. All I needed is a tool to cut the foam into the right circles that will fit my lenses. Does anyone know of tool that will cut circles on foam board or foam type of materials? I need a tool that will allow me to cut at various diameter. Any help is appreciated.

Tried that. It didn't work. Perhaps my foam is a little stiff and thick, but that's all I can find as far as foam type. Any suggestion on where I can find a foam type disk or circuler?

Have you tried an electric knife?

Have you tried an electric knife?

I'm not sure if this will help but I have had success cutting thick density upholstery foam using an electric knife and I'm thinking if you did trace your circle on the foam with a sharpie or some type of marking pen you could then use the knife to cut around the circle. Or perhaps somehow you could affix your circular cardboard template to the foam with tape or some kind of temporary adhesive that would make it easy to remove your template once you've cut around it is another possibility.
