Lens Fixer Upper

If I have a couple little nicks and minor marks on my wide angle lens (not the DVX lens) should I visit my local camera shop for a repair/buff?

I know about various recommendations for do it yourself, but the stuff on my lens has not come off, even though the marks are small, I can see them when I am editing.

Wadda ya think mang?

Check with your local place. I'm not sure how common lens repairs are for them.

One of the first things to do after getting it fixed is to a protection filter of some kind for any lenses you have such as a UV filter. Better to replace a lower price filter than to mess up an expensive lens.

Yeah, I'll check. I was a little careless and got some marks on the inside of the lens. I think it happened when putting it on / taking it off the DVX. Need to be more careful.

Tuff, are you still in Lafayette? I would call FVESCO in Denver for professional video repair. I'm in Longmont and they're who I use.

Yep, I'm in Lafayette. Mike's or Wolf Camera is closer, but maybe FVESCO is better for this type of thing.
