Lens cap won't fit

Look ma no hands
I just got my Tiffen UV filter, put it on and now my lens cap won't fit over the UV. Do I need to buy a new lens cap?

Re: Lens cap won't fit

that is very odd. what filter did you buy? I have a tiffen uv and I have not needed to get another lens cap.

Re: Lens cap won't fit

Sorry, I'm a jackass. It fits. I guess I should have played around with it for longer than a half second before I ran in here asking for help. Thanks, man!

Re: Lens cap won't fit

Ha! I did the same thing at first. It's funny how panicked one gets after putting down 3 gs and some change. It's like having a baby that spits up video.

Re: Lens cap won't fit

my baby is in the shop after only afew days of shooting...
damn heads seem to be perpetually dirty... I am not impressed!

Pffft... I can never get the damned lens cap back on without an embarrassingly long struggle, filter or no filter.

Re: Lens cap won't fit

The easiest way I've found to get the cap back on is to point the lens straight up and then let gravity take control.

Re: Lens cap won't fit

damn..i had the same prob...
i dont feel as stupid now.
ive had my camera for 2 days now...its gonna take me some time to figure out the rest.

You know you have a pretty sweet camera when that's your worst experience. ;D

Re: Lens cap won't fit

You are correct. Sweet camera. But when you have only used it three times and the lens cap doesn't fully engage and falls of scratching your new $3500 camera. It kinda takes the wind out of your sails. Well the good news is you can't see any thing in the finished product. Doesn't leave a good feeling knowing a component which costs a few dollars and caused this kind of trouble. Oh, I know, I didn't have my lens protector on yet. Who would have thought? I had just received it and turned it on a few times.

Re: Lens cap won't fit

you keep a protection lens (uv?) on constantly? under the panasonic lens cap in question?

do you use a uv filter on top of the anamorphic lens as well?

so new to this.. hehe

Thanks

David

Re: Lens cap won't fit

My UV filter is on at all times. I've never taken it off the camera, except when I used the anamorphic that one time...
