Lengthening/shortening a series of clips all at once?

Is there some way to take a series of 5-second clips, say, that follow one after the other and lengthen them all into 8-seconds, say, without having to modify each one individually? I don’t mean alter their time, but simply add 3 seconds more of footage at the end of each one, so that with 10 clips a 5X10 = 50-second segment becomes an 8x10 = 80-second one.

I think this will work. I'm not in FCP at the moment so I can't say 100%. Adjust the first clips end point then select it and hit apple/c to copy the clip. Then drag a selection around the rest of the clips in the timeline you want to effect and right click or control click them and select paste attributes. When the menu opens up I believe there is an option for duration. Check that and only that and it should adjust all the clips out point to be however many sec/frames you added to the clip you copied.
Good Luck
