Lemony Snicket: Special feature on sound design

I don't get any compensation for promoting this... but I was impressed with the special features disk for the following "Lemony Snicket"(2004) DVD.

The special feature on sound design has a fairly long segment with the various contributors to the sound design discussing what went into various shots. One of the interesting methods is to show the scene with only the designed sound, no dialog, no music, etc.

Another segment shows the sound team acquiring sounds from the demolition of a house. The team found a house that was to be demolished, and then set up mics and recorders to then acquire various sound associated with breaking things, glass windows, walls punced through, floorboard being split by jacking up the house from the crawl space, even a tree falling on the house. (and their frustration at not getting the house to actually crash in on itself with the tree falling...). In another more 'interactive' segment, the mics are depicted, and one can listen to the mic and what sound it acquired during the tree fall. They had 5 or 6 placed in various parts of the house.

Here's an Amazon reference to the disk set. Again this is just to give those who do buy various disks for the special features, where ever they are bought, an indication of the contents.
