Legal Music in my Videos

Hey guys, I became very sad when I found out that it's illegal to use music in videos without a license, that is, copyrighted music. What do wedding videographers do to put all those nice romantic music from famous artists, and especially when the bride requests a song to be put in the video or slideshow? Do they just ignore the law? How about if I want to add music to a video I made for my church and show it to my church? I really need help with this because my videos won't be as good without great music. Please help me out with this and let me in on things. I would highly appreciate it!

search for 'royalty free' music. there is a lot of free sound alike ditties on the web.
Or you can license the music. There are several levels of license you can get from low to high depending on the song.

"Do they just ignore the law?" Yes. They weigh the exposure of the production against the chances of being caught. Wedding videos = small exposure.

I cross posted because I noticed I was in the wrong category. Sorry.

I just feel bad if I'm breaking the law. I HATE these stupid laws. It's not harming anyone. If you were to make tons of money from the songs itself that's one thing, but goodness, now I can't even make a cool video with good music for my church to watch. It really irritates me.

So if these professional videographers are all breaking the law, then how can they call themselves a business. That's crazy! It's so hard to know what to do.
