Legal issues wth actors under 18?

I'm googling but not finding anything.

I've had a few actors under 18 who are interested in auditioning for my film..

what sort of legal issues are there in using them?

For legal advice, consult an attorney. It's the only way you can really be sure you're protecting yourself. Anything you learn in public forums is just hearsay.

If they're under 18, the likelihood of them being able to sign a contract is pretty marginal. You will almost certainly need a parent's (or legal guardian's) signature on all contracts, release forms, etc.

I guess I need to find out what exactly I will need for the guardians to sign, etc.

I'm only planning on using any minors as extras.

What state are you talking about? I can direct you to child labor laws and common practices. Dad (of a child actor) in Westchester Co, NY.....
