LEDs galore (and fluorescent) at NAB show

[Richard Crowley]

It appeared that every maker of lighting equipment had fluorescent and especially LED products on display at the NAB convention this year. There were LED fixtures from tiny to gigantic visible almost everywhere.

Many flat panel style with large arrays of T 1-3/4 LEDs, and others with higher-power LEDs (like Luxeon but who knows what brand, if any) in arrays with reflectors, and many with individual lenses over each LED. Some were reportedly water-cooled (reported by a friend at the show, but I didn't see it myself.)

any good articles, links, or reports about the new lights at NAB?

The lightpanels fresnel-like LEDs were cool, but the best looking one as far as sheer HMI-replacement output was the Creamsource LED at the Abel booth.
