LED litepanels - good?

Thanks Barry, I took a look at the site. Is this made for gels in mind? Or do I basically just tape a gel over the light?

David, thanks, i tried looking at that link but it just kept trying to load. I will check it out again later.

All I wonder is when this new vidleds will be sold again...

It's really amazing to me that Vidled is still out of commission. I've heard that Vidleds are great, but I don't have a whole lot of confidence in the company right now.

In the meantime I bought this SKC-105 LED LIGHT from Batteries4broadcast back in December and it worked really well for me. It's great that it works with a DVX battery, but not so great that the battery has to be held in place with a velcro strap. But the light it produces is very nice and made a huge difference when shooting run and gun in dark winter.

It aint cheap, but at least it's available.

It's getting a little bit unprofessional after the announcement two months (!) ago.

Expensive alternatives are a no-go for me and I like that Vidleds would be self-powered. However, letting the customers sit in the dark for so long without transparency is not what I expect.

Martin hi,

In case you're interested in litepanel micro...I have one for sale...I bought two of these lights but realised I need only one....btw I am very happy with those and they were on almost all lists of top gear of 2007....the one that I have for sale is brand new unpacked....I know vidled is also good...but I couldn't wait for them deliver and I needed a small portable 5600 led source for work so I went with micropanel micro....and I am not sorry I did...

Wow, I looked at the litepanel micro today, what a piece of junk! It feels cheap and the throw is weak. It is better than nothing ya, but I would suggest to anyone thinking about it to save up for a VidLed, or other choices.

Good Luck
