LED Lights for an indoor look?

Hi DVXers,
Let me start by saying im somewhat new to this. I have a dilemna maybe someone can help with. I am shooting a music video with a 5d and 60d. The only lights i have available are 3 500wtts 5500k led. Now the problem is I am going for a natural warm look and these lights seem to give off a blue tint. Any lights you could suggest to help me correctly accomplish this? I am super new so be nice haha. I cant get the right exposure with the natural light and am forced to find an alternative. Plus it doesnt hurt to have more lighting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW i have a 2k budget. Basically looking for some lights that are versitile.

Thanks,
Frank

how do I go about warming it in the camera? Adjusting the white balance? Sorry for the 101.

Thanks,

It's usually better to CTO the lights, but you can warm it in camera by adjusting the temperature Kelvin under white balance. Since your lights are balanced for 5600K, try dialing in 8K.

If you cannot dial in a specific temperature on your camera, most cameras have presets you can try, or they will have an auto white balance button that will dial in the right temperature for you. Just be sure to set your camera to not adjust again after you get the look you want (e.g. if you leave an auto white balance option on, your colors could change during the take).

The reason I say it is better to gel the lights is CTO will not knock the light level down that much. If you are balancing for daylight (5600K), putting a 1/2 CTO in front of the lights will make them appear much warmer without cutting your luminance down. And the gels are easy to put up and take down, allowing you to control every light, as opposed to leaving that to the camera where all the lights' colors will be interpreted based on the white balance temperature.

Great that helps. Looks like Ill need some CTOs. I can manually adjust the kelvin on the cameras as well so Ill give that a shot. I left it at 5500k but noticed it was a cool look not warmth. Thanks,
