So.... now that Litepanels have announced their Sola series, how long do you think it'll be before other companies start coming up with more economical alternatives?

I love the concept behind Litepanels' Sola, but good gravy they're fricking expensive! Clearly the 'average joe' or 'indie' is not in their target demographic... not at $2400 a 650W tungsten equivalent and $5000 for a 2k tungsten equivalent.

depends really....companies want to see how well this will sell. If they create a good product, and see a lot of professional cinematographers using it, other companies will create similar, more economical lights to target those of us that don't have the budget for the Sola series.
