Well, for only $60 for the big one in daylight temp it seems worth the experiment.

I have one of those on my boat as a deck light. It is plenty plenty bright, with about a 120 degree spread and runs fairly cool. Without barn doors or some kind of flags, this would be indiscreet light to say the least. Not sure at all about the color but at least in the specs it gives some range for color temp. The housing is plenty robust and the product is well made for the $$. I wonder how one would do powered by a medium Bescor brick? A 12 amp battery might get you an hour of use.

Actually I have few similar lights sitting around my place was going to put a few in a softbox and see what type of results I can get.
