Lectrosonics lav

Opinions on the lav that Lectrosonics includes with its 411a wireless packages? I think it's got "150" in the model number.

Lectrosonics uses the Tram capsule so their stock lav sounds good. I have both and there isn't a big difference in the sound of one over the other... If it's an m150... and I'm sure it is... you should be happy.

I use the 150 series with Tram capsule and have had great results. Quality gear.

Okay, I gotta' stop the spread of my misinformation RIGHT NOW... If I find where I read/heard the m150/Tram thing I'll post it... but if I can't find what I need to back up that statement then forget I made it.

I bought two different Lectro systems and I got the second one with a Tram... and I was told that it was the same capsule as the m150. I'd already HAD an m150 from my first set... and when I compared the two I couldn't hear much difference. The Tram probably has more bass and a softer sound overall... whereas the m150 seemed more crisp... but both very close.

At this point I've got 3 trams in addition to the Lectro mic and I haven't noticed any character differences in any of 'em... The only lav I have which sounds totally different then the others is a Sennheiser MKE2.

But as far as I can tell right now... the Lectro doesn't use the same capsule as the Tram... but it does LOOK like it. I picked 'em up before I typed this very sentence and they both have the same little circle hole behind a screen and they both appear to have the same little 1/8" round diaphragm...

I respect Oleg and I may have just been TOLD that they were the same from a salesman a couple years back... and in my old age I'm remembering it as fact.

the housing may look simillar , but the capsuls actually different - these mikes work grate outside but have very different behaiveer under clothes - i used both of them but i prefer different for hiding ,sanken or b-6 for open air the emw is my first choise
for loud situation s there is nothing better then the dpa's
the senheiser mke2 gold is also very good for these who lke overpriced products :-)

in the way they look i might suspect they are relative to audio technica - matt ill ask lectro - not sure ill get the straight answear :-)

It's been nearly two years and I STILL don't know what I think of the MKE2. They say that it's damn near waterproof... but I've never tested that. If you're paying anywhere near retail I'd suggest a Countryman over almost anything else. DPA is one of the best too, but again... pricey.

The MKE2 sounds really good if it's not concealed... but even still I usually choose a Tram first... If you gotta' rely on just one lav choice for a while I think you'd be best to go with one which sounds really open... like the Tram or even the Lectro does. With the MKE2 it's obvious when you go from shotgun to lav... you'll still hear the change from shotgun to Tram... but it's less noticeable.

The lav I want more then any other right now is a Countryman B6. For me, hiding a lav AND avoiding clothing rustle has been the biggest challenge. With the B6 you hardly even need to hide it... so you can get the head well off the fabric and still not see it on camera.

the sound of these is really depend on the vax in our ears - , i use almost every lav i have , that depends on situation and the actual voice of the acter - mike thatsounds good on one person sounds bad on another -
