Lectro 187's: mount to dvx?

Any thoughts on how to mount my Lectrosonics 187 receiver (or not moount it) as I'd rather not put gluey velcro on the dvx...? Is there some sort of holster one can get, a pouch perhaps?

I had two 187 sets and I got what was called a cell-phone holster from Home Depot for $10. It was the same brand as the soft-side tool bags they carry. This particular holster had elastic sides and it stretched to a glove like fit of the 187 receiver. Next I took the end of a thin copper pipe and heated it with a torch so that it would easily melt/push through the bottom where the XLR needs to go in.

Voila'... now just clip that on your belt and run a 3' or 5' XLR from that to the camera... depending on how much motion you need away from the reciever.

This worked great for me... for a couple years until I sold my Lectros. I think the Lectro 187 receiver is too much weight to add to your arms... stick it on your hip and you can forget that it's there.

There are brackets you can buy at B&H or EVS that you can attach a receiver to the camera providing you have a receiver holder because you will need to bolt the holder onto the bracket. The other alternative is to buy something like the DVrig PRO where it has a receiver holder built onto the rig. I have a Lectro 187 and I have it on there all the time. Now If I want to shoot something handheld and still use my wireless then I usually have to rig something together!

For example, I have a BOGEN SUPER CLAMP. I super clamped the receiver to one of my tripod's legs then ran a 6' XLR cable to the camera. I was shooting a wedding and knew I wasnt going to be moving around and the super clamped did not budge at all anyway!

I am going to need to get that bracket and holder in order to go handheld and wireless unless I put the receiver in some sort of hip pouch and run a cable to the camera which is not a bad idea either. Just make sure you don't bend the receiver's antenna!
