Learning color

How much do you know about any kind of grading?

Do you have a concept of what grading is? Do you WANT to? Or do you just want to know how to mess around with it?

There are LOTS of color tutorials on youtube!! Lynda.com has some that you can spend money on.

Will it make you a colorist? Doubt it. I'd spend my money elsewhere. Go to amazon and find yourself a good book on the art of color and film.

Kind of like asking, I want to build a house, anyone have tutorials on using a hammer?

The Art and Technique book is a nice followup, but I still like the first book as a starter (more than a starter... how about primer).

I think I mentioned Lynda too, Matt -- but thanks.

regal,

check out the tutorials pertaining to "color" on the at creative cow website. also, apple pro training series is a good resource. all the apple certified editors and colorists use those books in the training classes. for 25 bucks a month... lynda.com can walk you thru many topics of the color program and you can drop it when you feel comfy.

Thats what I'm doing I didn't pay the 228.00 a year cost. Plus I just rip the videos off lynda.com as a resource if I ever want to learn it again.
