Learned Wordpress today

Been stretched pretty thin on my current project, so I needed something for the main hub that looked a little more sleek than what I can pull off with my software. I'm a complete and utter fail when it comes to website design. Wordpress had enough plug-and-play themes that it was worth giving a day of my time to learn how to use it. I'm happy enough.

I use wordpress to power jdmax.com as well for my corporate portfolio site which I keep hidden from google search.
Its a really powerful tool with a good support forum although there's others out there like TextPattern, FrogCMS, GetSimple etc.

Wordpress can get hacked quite easily though if you don't take some simple precautions on the maintenance side

• keep your wordpress up-to-date
• avoid plug-ins that are not current or frequently updated by their writer
• make backups of your mySql database thru wordpress
• also make backups of your msSql database thru your hosting control panel
• get a good spam plug-in for comment spam
