Im sure many of you know about this. buti just discovered it today. and its AMAZING to me!!!!

And any of you who havent tried it, ENJOY.

if you connect your DVX to your laptop Via 1394, and open the capture window without switching it to VCR, it will just show a live preview of your image. so you can focus, and even better, record it wthout tape......

My whole world just changed.... lol

granted its not as convienient as DV rack, but just for focusing its a life saver.

i was worried for weeks that i thought my DVX was having focus issues, turns out i was just relying to much on the EVDTL and missing the focus point.

i am now the proud owner of clear sharp footage :)


PS what makes DV rack better than using Vegas straight up.
 
cool, sorry if thsi is annoying David, but, tools like what?

i heard soemthign about it turns a Laptop into a Production monitor by changing the set up of the display or something....

also, does it enable the record to be trigered by the red button, or do you have to do it by hand on the PC?

Also, what do you mean exposure?

I am serisouly thinking about gettign it if its really amazing. which almost everyone says it is anyway.
 
It has an automated focus tool whereby you put a specific focus chart near your subject and it'll analyze the image and tell you when you have it in sharpest focus. I never use it, but it's there...

Also, you can alt-enter and get a fullscreen blowup monitor with pixel-accurate resolution (if you have the HDV PowerPak, at least). And in the regular monitor you can zoom in way tight so you can see a magnified version of the exact pixels it's working on.

Seriously? I've racked up 600+ in just three weeks? Well that's pathetic! Three weeks? That's... 30 per day... that's outrageous! :)
