seems like theyed bee awfully low resolution ... what did you think rodger?

Re: LCD Video Monitor Glasses

The ones we bought were 640x480 on each eye. Problem was a few different things.

First didn't fit well. Pressed on forehead pretty hard and the LCD's just did not match my eye spacing so there was always a boarder area (either left or right) that was visible.

Clunkly. Even moderate movements made me feel like I had a bucket on my head. Quick movements looked like someone was throwing the TV set all over the place.

Gave me a headache. As far as I'm concerned, these things will ruin your eyes! At the very least they pull eye muscles or something because after about 15 minutes or so I felt like I had been staring at a bad CRT for the past 4 hours. It did actually give me a headache a couple of times.

That's about it. This was 2 years ago, so maybe different now. I know that iglasses are now 800x600, maybe alot more was fixed too.

Re: LCD Video Monitor Glasses

Well the interesting thing with the eyetop version is that they are one eye only...I know a fellow who uses them with his Steadicam and that is kind of my motivation. To be able to look and walk backwards with the camera facing forwards.

Re: LCD Video Monitor Glasses

If it's being used now by some with a steadycam, it might be worth looking into further.

Before I sent mine back, I and my son looked at what it would take to mount a small pen camera on the iglasses and a switch to make 1 or both LCDs look thru the pen camera.

Just seem like too much stuff on your head and still wouldn't help the previously posted problems except maybe the "bucket head feeling"... Maybe.
