Was there ever a final verdict, what camera mountable LCD monitor to go with, i read through the forum, but didn't feel like a found a definite answer. I need a monitor on which i can focus and judge color, which i can run on a battery, PAL compatible, L/R flip and ideally 16:9, but 4:3 is ok if the quality is grate. Do you have any advice. Not to much $$$

Thanx

Check out the Nebtek stuff at EVS. I believe they make an LCD that can use a DVX battery for power. Keep in mind, that for "not much $$$" you're not going to get an LCD that you can judge color on. For something like that, you're going to need something like a Transvideo monitor, which if I'm not mistaken can cost several thousand bucks. What I mean by "judge color" is the ability to use blue only to calibrate the monitor for accurate colors. A Nebtek monitor will get you close and deliver a good picture, but it won't give you an accurate image. Also check out Panasonics 7'' LCD, I hear good things about it.

You might like to look at the Lilliput 7" TFTs. Half the price of the Panasonic and double the resolution (800x480 vs 480x234).

They are Pal compatible, 16:9, low power consumption, and can be operated off cheap sealed lead acid batteries. You just have to go to an electronics store and make up some connections.

I'm about to buy one myself after reading through dozens of reviews on various monitors. Their build quality might not be up to the Panasonics but the picture is sharper and it's a way cheaper option. Have a look online... make sure it's the high res model you're looking at because they also do models with the same res as the Panny (for a fifth the price).

lacuna, do you have a link? I'll google it, but if you know where to go, let's have it. - CK
