LCD for final preview?

I want a small monitor for doing final previews of color etc when I edit on my puter. 15-20" Will an HD LCD (I want it for both HD and SD) suffice or will CRT buy me anything (besides size - as in will a CRT image be more "true" than LCD)?

I have noticed a stark difference between my 19" LCD Monitor and my TEST CRT TV. You have too keep in mind that LCD's have a higher brightness than most TV sets, and since most people sre still using standard TV's (for now), I think it would be wise to get a cheapy TV, and preview your stuff on there, but thats just my opinion.

Always try to preview on the worst possible monitor. Then you'll know what it will look like for the masses.

Ignore the crappy advice. (It doesnt work that way anyway ... bad work will stay bad work)

Never ever cater to the lowest common denominator if you care about your work.

I'm not saying do crappy work. I'm saying that you need to be aware of what your work looks like on the lowest common denominator's viewing device. Maybe try to read things before you respond and call people's advice crappy there shooter.

Anyone who has ever worked in the industry knows that not every person in society has a high def widescreen monitor to view your final piece. I'm not saying you have to view your work on this. I view mine on a nice 7" widescreen monitor myself, but when you view your piece on a 4:3 tube TV, then you're going to see what most people out there in the real world are going to see. It's ideal for making sure your titles are safe pretty much.

Gosh, what a horrible idea huh?
