LCD Callibration

I just bought a 20" viewsonic LCD and am having a harder time than normal with callibration. Are there any tips, secrets or techniques for this game? It seems to run way brighter than my 19" CRT and is real difficult to get the gamma right.
 
I had the same problem and I'm now using a CRT as my secondary monitor and an LCD for my pallettes, as it seems much easier to calibrate a CRT so that it is closer to NTSC...
 
Thanks Isac....I tried that but way too much for my brain. I di however come up with a simple tool that was very easy and had the options I needed here
