Lavaliers and clothing sound

Hi guys,

I´ve read a lot and watched a bunch of youtube videos telling people to use moleskin to avoid getting noise from the actor's clothes, but I cannot find anything similar here in Brazil. What else can I do to avoid getting noise from the actor's clothes when they move? Should I wrap the mics' sides with medical tape? Should I use the mics' windscreen? I have no idea...

One technique I have had some luck with is to fashion two triangles out of 1" gaff tape, sticky side out, then place the lav between. So then you can place the mic sandwich between layers of clothing., say between a shirt and a t shirt or on the overlay of where the shirt where the buttons are. If it sticks on both sides, it won't rub.

Both actors are wearing t-shirts on all episodes, so I was taping the mic directly into the actors' skin....

Sometimes, it isn't the mic that's picking up the rubbing sound but the cable moving around. It's helpful to tape the wire several places inside the clothing so it doesn't move around.

Many thanks, guys. I´ve been looking for moleskin but I could not find it here in Brazil. I´ve posted on a Brazilian forum and a guy suggested that I cut off a piece of cloth and put it over the mics' "head" like a sock and run some gaffer tape over the sides to keep it attached. Would this help on anyway?
