Lav Wind Fur

I need to rent a wireless lav and it doesn't come with a wind fur. I'd like to avoid buying one at this time. Is there a cheap DIY solution for something like this? (i.e. cotton balls or the like). I'm not looking for a amazing results just something that will deflect the wind have a decent amount of frequencies coming through.

I've cut a finger tip off of baby's cotton gloves.. I usually use Rycote Overcovers, but you would have the buy a whole package. Otherwise go to a artsy/craftsy store and use your imagination.

In the amount of time and money you spend on finding something in a store to you could just buy a single furry cover from some place, or see if the place you are getting the lav from will rent you a furry wind cover. If you have stuff laying around...like and old mitten or cotton glove that might work, but they'll muffle the sound.

You can see a nice selection here.
