lav microphones connection help

I rented out 2 wireless lavaliere microphones. I was under the impression that they could just connect to my dvx100a using the xlr input 1 and 2. then just set my channels on my camera to channel 1 and 2.

however the recievers for the wireless microphones, the plug at the end looks like a headphone jack. not the 3prong nickel sized xlr that i need. Is this the norm for wire less lav?

do i need some sort of an adaptor?
Should it have came with an xlr plug?
is there an alterantive way of hooking up these two mics?

thanks in advance

What make and specific model of wireless have you rented? Many come with a several cables depending on what you're planning to connect them to, including XLR and mini-plug.

Or could anyone link me to ..... 2 wireless lav mics for under 500 dollars.

Im looking to record dialogue in a short.

I need one to hook up to channel 1 and the other to chanel 2.

I am new with audio and only looking to get better

the audio-technica pro 88w/r

You need the CP8306 adapter cable Audio-Technica supplies for the receiver. I'm guessing you could also use a Rode VXLR mini-to-XLR adapter that they make for the Videomic.

As for other wireless options, the Sennheiser G2 series is just about the minimum one should consider for any serious work.

This is the truth, and sadly $500 is a very tight budget for wireless, as the Sennheisers run that for a brand new one, and that's only one transmitter/receiver. There are cheaper systems out there, but especially for commercial and professional use, I wouldn't recommend anything cheaper than that.
