Lav distort shotgun space problem

Heres the problem. I have two tracks of audio of a doctor I interviewed. On one channel is a lav, but most of the crucial sound clipped out and sounds bad. On the other channel I have a shotgun. The shotgun is not distorted, but it has a really airy/spacey feal. The interview was shot in a fairly large hardwood room.

I've done some pretty intricate editing with the lav/distorted sound figuring I could fix it with a filter later. Fat chance!

So my question is. Is there an EASY way to replace all the lav/distorted sound with the shotgun track without having to manually recreate the edits? And if there is... and even if there isn't, Is there a filter I can apply to the shotgun sound that won't make it sound so distant?

Thanks.

well, what you need is like a 3 channel mixer in line with your mics. your lave is over modulating because your gain on the transmitter, reciever, or the input of the camera is to high. your boom sounds like its two far away, it should be around 12 inches in front and above the head shooting down into the mouth, you will still need to mix it. with these mics go through a mixer with someone mixing the sound and your golden. ( when you get your mixer you must first set the levels of the mixer to mach the camera by running tone and level them to 0 or even -10.
