I shot the sunset 5 times last week because it was pretty incredible on Sunday. Unfortunately, none of them were as nice as Sunday later in the week.
Decided to give a few freebie shots to random people walking by, and my friend. I wanted to get myself a little bit more familiar with my flash. I usually shoot more photojournalistic style, but I really need to get used to low-light and night photography and I wanted to get better on portrait.
I've taken sunset pics in the past, but never with people posed on front of them. Instead of using controlled studio lighting and a backdrop, I wanted to see what I could get out of my SB-800 flash and what was left of natural light, and turn it into a more "portrait" style feel. The hard part is trying to develop a style that doesn't look like anyone else's. Hopefully I can find my "look" someday.
Everything was shot with my D70 with the 16mm f/2.8 RAW
