There Will Be Blood
I watched this last night...again. I've literally lost count how many times I've seen it.

Saw that in the theater a couple weeks ago.
It's a neat film, very experimental. Great story, great score and great direction of local/first-time actors. The one thing that bothered me was the cinematography. it was shot on film, but it seemed like it was influenced by the recent school of DSLR filmmaking that shoots everything super-shallow just because it can be done. It's that terrible misconception that shallow DOF is what defines "cinematic" footage. It was a good film in most other ways, but I did get tired of all the soft focus as the DoP was working to keep up with the subjects.
The question is... did you suffer from motion sickness... as I did?
By the time the film had run half way through I could care less about the 'soft/shallow' DoF... it was just a battle not to run to the exit and puke... The Wife had been wanting to see this film for a month or so, so I felt it was obligatory to stay...
I'll probably buy the disk when it comes out... hopefully the small screen will limit any motion that would result in my personal 'distress'...
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" and "This is 40".
