OK, I just ran a quick sample from some 1/2" clear acrylic. Sorry for the poor quality i-sight photo. My camera batteries are dead... oops. I can produce this from delrin for $15 for the first one and $5 for each duplicate.

So you got your own laser cutter machine?

I wanted to get some disks done for my follow focus, but I was quoted 7 euros each disk, plus the material. His execuse was it took ages to change the tools and test and setup the machine. I guess a laser dosnt have a tool.... Whats your quote?

email me at pete<dot>hoare<at>gmail<dot>com and il give you more details... Im likely to need afew hundred.

Thanks.

Hoarp001,

Thanks for your interest in having me make some parts for you. By disks, I assume you are referring to the white marking disks like this...

What material did you have in mind? PETG, White Delrin, or White Acrylic come to mind. I would think the Acrylic would be easiest to clean. A simple shape like that would likely be similar in price to Car3o's bracket with possibly a bump depending on material cost. If you order 100, we can work out a discount for volume. The weak dollar should more than make up for the shipping costs to the UK. Nice jib by the way.

Peter,

I just e-mailed you the quote. I should mention, the laser does an amazing job at cutting case foam... hint hint... :)

Hi guys,
I'm new here. I found this site through Google when I was searching for laser cutting related sites. I'm not into film making or anything and you guys might frown upon my being here, but I thought I might be able to help out.

I am located near Chicago, IL and I have a laser cutter that can cut accurately steel up to 1/4" thick. It can also cut acrylic. I have only tried acrylic up to 1/8" thick, but I'm pretty sure it will cut thicker. The maximum size of the part could be 48"x48". I don't want to step on anybody's toes or take any business away from members here, but maybe there is something I can do that others may not be able to.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Email or PM me if you have any questions.
Carl

Here are a couple of examples of things I made in the past. The Cubs sign is 1/8" layered acrylic. I think the steel part was around 3/16". The imperfections around the inner contour are not from the laser. The customer drilled some holes in the plate and tried to cut the steel with a jig saw before he gave it to me to cut.
