Las Vegas

"best" depends on what you want to see/do, as well. Last time I brought crew into Vegas I put 'em up at the Excalibur, it was $40/night for prime positioning on Tropicana at the Strip.

You won't get prices like that during NAB week though, they'll be more like $250/night.

Circus Circus is cheap and walking distance to the convention center. If you want to be really cheap and have a car you can stay at Whisky Pete's or Buffalo Bills 20 minutes outside of town.

Every time I went to Vegas, I stayed at the cheapest one I could find at the time...

Excalibur a few times, Barbary Coast, New York New York, Imperial Palace etc. They are all right smack dab in the middle of it all. But, Excalibur seems to be the most consistent in terms of having cheap rates.

I've stayed at The Orleans and The Gold Coast, resonable rates during NAB - 65.00-75.00 per night throughout the week, but it all depends on when you book it. There both off the strip though. First time I was in Vegas, stayed at The Orleans and decided to walk to the strip cos it looked like it was about 10 minute walk away, wrong, took me like an hour. I'd like to visit Vegas sometime when I'm not working 12 hours days at the convention center, by the end of the day your wiped.

If you're going during NAB, try to find a hotel that's on the free NAB bus route. It'll save a lot of walking during potentially brutally hot days, and it'll save a lot of expense dealing with cabs.

The monorail is an option, but last time the monorail was overcrowded to the bursting point so I don't know how long that'll be an option.

The Hilton is the most convenient to the convention center in that it's right next door, but hotels like the Riviera aren't too far of a walk.

Awesome. I'm actually going w/ my lady friend to celebrate our anniversary. St Patty's day, so that's the occasion. March 17th-ish hopefully, will look into the suggested hotels...

Thanks!!
