Laptops and Monitors for Computer and TV

I just purchased the Toshiba Laptop Satellite (u205 s5034). I was wondering how you think it will work as a P2 storage device and possible DV Rack companion.
The specs are Intel Core 2 Duo, 1 gig DDR2 ram, 100 gig HD, Media Center. There was not an option for Express Card...seems you can either get the PCMCIA or Express and I was told that an adaptor for the Express Card to PCMCIA would not speed up the data transfer. This was the first of its kind in the store. Its weight is 4.2 lbs with a 12" widescreen. Emphasis on shock and durability. I wanted something very light and durable. The price was $1300 plus a 3 yr warranty that covers anything.

Next I am looking at the Samsung 32" or 26" LCD monitor to dual as a computer monitor and TV w tuner. The Samsung has a 4000:1 contrast that seems to give a level of detail other brands do not have. The 32" is $1439 and the 26" is $1079.

Is this considered a good brand?
Is 32" too big to edit from?
Is it reasonable to use one monitor for both Computer and TV?

Where did get the laptop? I bought mine for $1239 including tax but only for 1 year warranty. It will arrive hopefully by tomorrow.

If you can give me the name or website of your seller so I can ask for a pricematch.

That is a good deal.

It was in Nashville. By plus I mean the warranty was plus the $1300 (not including). Sorry for any confusion.

Ideal would be a 7200rpm hard drive for HD recording with DV Rack. A 5400rpm may also work for HD, you just have to test it. I ordered a new laptop (Dell) and made sure it had a 7200rpm hard drive. Look at the forum of Serious Magic, there are some interesting threads on this. I am waiting for my new laptop to test this. Good luck.

Is IT really a Intel Core 2 Duo WITH T5200 WITH 2MB L2 CACHE OR T7200 WITH 4MB L2 CACHE? I FOUND OTHER POSTING IT SHOWS ONLY AS T5200 AND OTHERS SHOWS T7200.

KINDLY CHECK THIS ONE FOR ME.
