Issue: I am going to purchase a laptop for on the road video rendering and effects processing.

Which of the following 2 laptop processors would be faster for my needs?

Intel P4 552 w/Hyper-Threading 3.4GHZ and 1MB L2 Cache
or
Intel PM 770 2.13Ghz and 2MB L2 Cache

Is there another mobile technoligy that may suite my needs?
 
I don’t know all that much about Pentium Ms.

I do know that my laptop has a 2.8Ghz HT P4 and renders acceptably quickly. It’s not as robust as my desktop, of course, but I have no complaints, considering. A 3.4Ghz would be noticeably better.

Get as much RAM as possible, of course. Super-duper video cards are irrelevant.
