How does Canopus handle the "second license": If i have a desktop editing station and also want to use Edius on my laptop on the road: do I need two licenses or is there a dongle solution or such? Does anyone know this/Do this??
 
Starting with v4, all versions of EDIUS - both Pro and Broadcast, use a hardware USB dongle.

So as long as EDIUS is installed on both systems, it's just a matter of moving the dongle to the one you're using.
 
You can also transfer the license from the USB dongle to the hard drive. I don't recommend doing so because if the hard drive crashes or the laptop is stolen, the dongle is useless and will not be replaced.

However, a dongle can also easily get lost when travelling with a laptop, so you should be aware of this option -- not having to fumble for the dongle or breaking it off when it is sticking out the back of your laptop can be nice.
