I'm moving around a lot and was looking for recommendation for a laptop so I can get some editing done. It don't have to finish on the laptop. That will be left to my desktop machine. I'm hoping to keep the price under $1000. So any recommendations?

Well, you are probably going to get all sorts of recommendations from personal experience and so forth. So, here goes mine...

You could go to DELL and build your own. Their way of doing things comes in handy. You can start with the base model of what you just can't live without...monitor size wise...(and remember the chassis or the actually model you choose will influence the size of the battery you can use. Mine is the E1505 and I have a 9 cell battery which lasts 4 hours. Very handy)....

Then, after you pick a price you can carefully choose upgrades you think are necessary. More ram, bigger hard drive, etc. So by building it on your own you can really monitor the cost of the thing and get a computer for a great deal.

Also, be sure to google Dell Coupons. Chances are you can find a coupon code which you can input at the end of the build process which will knock the price down even more...

That is one avenue to take...

If you're a small business, call rather than order online. They knocked an additional $500 off for me.
