Laptop Editing

I'm looking to purchase a PC laptop to edit HVX200 mostly 720p HD footage. I want to use Adobe Premiere to Edit.

What do you guys think the minimum requirments would be for a stable system? The Adobe stated requirments seem to be ridiculously high as I don't edit on a PC nearly that good!

And yes I know it's stupid to edit on a laptop, I just find I get more done editing away from the office.

remeber this is not for offloading, this is for actual editing, like editing in a park as I sip on coffee.

Thxs.

I edited using PP2.0 on a Duo Core 2.0 Ghz with 1 GB of RAM. It was servicable for SD, but render time was horrendous (8 hours for about 12 minutes of SD footage). I really don't think editing HD on a laptop is a good idea (or even feasible) since HD editing is already enough to force my PC to its knee. You would definitely need a program like Cineform to edit in a less taxing codec; also because Premiere at this point does not support DVCPROHD editing.

does 2.0 not have it? im pretty sure i saw project options for 1080i 720p 1080p, and all other sorts.

I often edit on FCP using a macbook with I believe a 2.3 dual processor and it runs completely smooth and rendering time is almost nil for 720p... Does FCP just run that much smoother than Premiere?

Right now I edit SD on Premiere on a really crappy computer and don't seem to have any issues except for long rendering times.

I was kinda ssuming I could get a Laptop with the same basic stats as the macbook and it would edit Premiere about as smoothly as FCP? Am I just completely wrong on this?

Oh and a followup, The cineform codec is less taxing on a system than native or raylight? I thought it was all the same? Just a matter of how you wanted to do things?
