Land of the Dead hit theaters sooner than expected

I know there haven't been any official photos or video released yet, but has anyone come across anything interesting online yet?

I'm not a massive fan of romero's dead movie. I respect what he did for zombies, but his movies never really appealed to me. I like the remake of Dawn far more than the original.

My 2 cents.

what???

How can you like the remake better???

The original had a much better subtext and social commentary... dated it may be... it is still one of my favourite horror films.. and one of the few horror films that has an intelligent commentary on something.. most horror films are just gore and crappy plots.

but I did like the remake quite a lot as well.. it was just a little more hollow than the original.

The only thing that troubles me is that he didn't want to make any more films until he saw how well the remake of Dawn did. If he changed his mind because he thought there may be a fan base (and people to appreceate the work) or just that he may be able to make some cash is unknown.

But I sure how it's the former of the two, and I hope this rocks as hard as it has the potential to.

He actually has had this movie written for a few years, but he had a hard time finding someone to finance it. Now that zombie movies are cool again, he was finally able to go ahead with it. I wouldn't be too worried about him selling out.

Ryan, I dont too much about this film; its pretty secret. I'm with Bob. I love the genre and Romero's films but I liked the remake; its a funner film. Day is my favorite and Return is just good fun in itself. Night kicks ass; but DAWN 78 is just cheesy at times and bad filmmaking.

I was not aware of that. Okay, cool. Resume excitement.

Exactly. Its a film that moves quicker and has fun doing so. I found myself bored during the original. I'm hoping that Romero has learned some new tricks.

The only ALRIGHT part of the remake (if you wanna call it that) of dawn of the dead was the begining. The rest was boring. They lived in a mall and didnt even steal anything. Land of the dead is gunna be the best zombie film ever. Romero is probably fed up with all these crappy zombie films.

The Remake was awesome, I found the zombies to be far more threatening, and the direction itself was far above that of the original.

Land of the Dead could kick butt. I'm just not gonna get my hopes up. Cutting edge blockbuster movies have changed alot since the 80's and thats the last time he was behind the camera on a Dead film.

I think that if he surrounds himself with the right people it could very well be one of the best zombie films made, and certainly one of the best Dead movies. But time will tell. I haven't even seen a trailer yet so I'll gladly give him the benefit of a doubt.

Most people do like the remake better. Now a days you cant make a movie with SLOW zombies cause everyone wants an action packed movie.

I heard Universal gave romero 30 million dollars so his budget is much higher than with his first 3 movies.

"Cutting edge blockbuster movies" = absolute **** (in my opinion). But then again, who asked for my opinion?

I'll just go get another drink.

The worst zombie movie ever made was 'Zombie Lake'. Its so horrible you gotta watch it.

EDIT: isn't it a little too early to drink? what time is it in alaska?

It was 3:10pm here when I posted last, and yes, I've been drinking. I got off work early today and had nothing else going on.

Zombie Lake is awesome in the sense that it's a terrible flick, and I enjoy those. You have to love that the first 10 minutes of it is basically just a chick swimming naked.
