Kind of a broad subject but couldn't find much info here after a few searches. Curious if you folks could shed some light on the subject?

Cheers!

I don't know what you mean. I always make sure to have at least 2 spares for every light on hand of the lights I own and change them when I have to.

Sorry mate, should've been a bit clearer with the original inquiry. How often should one change lamps (say standard halogen)? Should one follow the lamp manufacturer's average life span recommendation? Is there a better rule of thumb? Sorry for the trivial question!

I usually wait for them to die. A few times I've changed bulbs early but only because they had significantly weakened. Chances are if you don't notice the difference then there probably isn't too much of one.

Thanks mate! Any other consideration to aging bulbs? Spectral shift? In your experience, how long before you've noticed a significant weakening in output?
