Hello everybody!
When I want to render a video footage out in AVI, if I choose LAME MP3 for AUDIO, I get the message: "An error occured while opening a codec."
So,where is the problem? I have LameMP3.dll in my system but not in Sony Vegas directory. What to do?!?
Yeah, I just had this problem yesterday! LAME works in everything but Vegas 6.0c.
I worked around it... I rendered out with uncompressed PCM audio, then I used VirtualDub (it's a free download) to recompress the audio.
Open the AVI in VirtualDub, set Video to Direct Stream Copy and set Audio to Full Processing, then go into compression and select your LAME MP3 compression of choice.
Then, File and Save .avi to a new file, and it will compress the audio, leave the video alone, and in about 4 minutes per 23 minutes of video on my P3 1Ghz, give you the final result you are looking for.
You can also save those settings, and put multitple files into a queue if you have lots of AVIs to do that way.
I'd love to have Vegas working properly with Lame, but until then, this gets the job done.
