Yep. Yesterday. My (now former) ad agency home was down 50% for the year after losing two big clients and people had to go. That, I expected. I didn't really expect it to be me since I was the only senior writer there. Now they're down to three senior art directors, one junior AD and one junior writer. Fired me, two junior ADs and my other junior writer. Let go a couple of account people, but I still think they're bloated in that department.
Anyway, if anyone needs any freelance writing -- ads, TV/radio spots, etc. -- give me a shout. I should be okay, but work is work and money is mortgage payments. At least I'm on my wife's benefits package so Cobra won't kill us.
Not sorry to be away from that agency; just sorry I didn't have some things already lined up. Such is life.
