Hey,
Recently undertook a project in which I'm transferring the wedding tape of a friend from VHS to DVD and figured I'd fix the levels in the video a bit on the way using Premiere Pro. After looking around for methods to transfer from VHS to a .avi file to edit in Premiere, my friend directed me to the TV Wonder USB 2.0, which I hooked up to my VCR and a USB 2.0 port in my computer. Figuring I didn't want to capture the whole 50-minute video in one chunk, I went with 5-minute increments instead. My capture settings were as such:
Type: AVI
Video: 720x480, 29.97fps, DV Video Encoder
Audio: 48.000 KHZ, 16-bit, Stereo, PCM
Everything seemed to work great (granted it was pretty badly shot). Playing the captured .avi's in Windows Media Player, they seemed fine. But upon putting them into Premiere Pro 1.5 and syncing up the clips via audio cues, I noticed there was a jump in the video (same footage played over again at the cut point). Upon further inspection, I noticed the audio was lagging behind the video at the end of the first clip. I went and tried connecting the other clips via this method to find the same thing happening; the audio lagging behind the video.
The clips play fine in Windows Media Player but the audio slowly lags in Premiere Pro. Any ideas what causes this and how I could fix it?
Thanks for your time in reading this.
