Lacie's New Little Big Disk

[Hunabku]

Lacie announced Little Big Disk - a new highly portable raid based on 2.5 inch (laptop) drives - in 160,200,320 gigabyte models (all the same size and weight)

For a review of their performance see this article. http://www.barefeats.com/hard74.html

These are expensive but should be nice at handling pannies HD codec editing in the field.

My 320 is kickin!!! Doing all my card dumps and editing roughs on the same unit.

So it is not battery powered and can not be used directly on the firewire of the HVX200 to dump the content of the P2 card to the LaCie????

It is bus powered... firewire 400 or 800. I have never used the HVX direct to disk so I don't know if you can dump direct. It also has a power supply port on the back if your laptops power spec is too wea to power it.
