LaCie, G-tech, Sonnet drives

[MisterCat]

I've been searching the forums and most posts on drives seem to be fairly old. Any opinions on the newest portable drives? I'm looking at G-tech mini, LaCie rugged hard disk, and the sonnet F2. I need to be able to travel easily so want one of these small drives. And of course is there anything else I should look at? I need to move fairly fast on this purchase for some projects coming up quickly.

thanks
Steven

I've used a boat load of LaCie drives with no problems and have generally been very happy with them. However, I recently had my first drive fail - and it always happens at the worst possible time - it was a Lacie rugged drive. For what its worth, I will still be buying LaCie's as I've had such a good track record with them.
I guess this kind of thing is to be expected, so whatever you do, be sure to have back-ups.
