Labs in T.O

Thought I'd post this anew, since the question was asked in an off topic sorta thread.

Does anyone have knowledge of good post labs/facilities in Toronto ?

Specifically with regards to DV - Film blow up.
Super16 - 35 blow up.
DI/Telecine.

Any good experiences, or advice would be appreciated.

I went to "CINE BYTE" in Toronto & watched a 35 blow up from DVX(with anamorphic lens) & it was stunning. I think they charge $600 per minute printed on 35mm, they scann frame by frame & go to film with Arri Laser.

Oh I just remembered, Technicolor in Toronto does a lot of 35mm blow ups from DVX & there is some super smart guy over there & I don't remember his name, (they have a beautiful looking facility)

$600 per minute. IF I could afford that, I don't think I would be shooting with a DVX

Yes... but the idea is that you pay for it AFTER your film is done and ready for distribution, not before (which can easily come to the same sum). I know that music videos shot on 16mm routinely budget around 3K for film + telecine. That's about $1000 per minute. I don't think that includes the final print.

Yes, $600/min seems a lot if you have a 90min feature, but if your film gets signed up for theatrical distribution, $54K is probably no longer an issue.

If it doesn't, why would you want to blow it up to 35mm?
