Kung Fu

Okay, not a film...but...

Anyone know why Kung Fu was shot in widescreen?  To the best of my knowledge, TVs were all 4:3 in '72. I don't recall if it was letterboxed or pan-and-scanned when shown.

I could understand why the pilot was shot that way...a possible theatrical release if the TV series didn't get the green light, perhaps.  But after that?

Re: Kung Fu

I believe it was all shot 4:3.

On a completely different subject, GenJerDan, I am engrossed by your avatar. I can't stop staring at it. Not since strankali's avatar have I been so fascinated.

Hilarious.

Re: Kung Fu

Umm, to clarify, I think Kung Fu was shot 4:3, but they cropped it for widescreen later. Which is pretty much what everyone does these days.

Hmmm...cropped afterward? Pretty good job of it. Doesn't look like anything is "missing".
