Kssssssm

Hey all,

Two questions. I already have one of those Yamaha MG mixers for music, but since it needs to be plugged in, i was looking into a portable battery, like the hotbox or juicer. is that a good idea to get a portable power block for 200 and run the MG mixer instead of spending for the MixPre and others?

Also, if i don't have to get a boompole i wont for now, so i was wondering if the k-tek kssm shockmount would fit on a painters pole or does it have to be a pole specifically made for booming?

Thanks,
Andy

try camping products , you definitely find some large battery with inverter
about the pool - you will need screw to fit the shock mount hall.

check
the diy section you probably find something , if not there is even cheaper solution as a tree branch or bamboo :)

Years ago, I worked on a student film over at York University, where they equip student films with camera monopods in lieu of boom poles.

They're mercilessly heavy (compared to even the heaviest entry-level fishpole) and the piano-key section locks tend to rattle, but I'd still use one of those before I reached for a painter's pole. A thread adapter will allow you to securely mount a mic on the end.

That said, if you can't afford to buy a boompole, rent one. If you can't afford to rent a boom pole, seriously re-examine your production budget. Don't waste your time with DIY boompoles and shockmounts.
