koyanisqatsi

From what I know, it was made to be very open ended/interpretive.

The way I saw it, it was trying to say that humankind's need to expand and enhance themselves in anyway possible will eventually lead to their destruction.

The life of waste, excess, and destruction will lead to "life out of balance".

Glad to see a post on the film though, I love the music and imagery in this film, so fantastic, and I was just talking to my friend yesterday about needing to track down a copy.

I could have sworn there was another thread about the trilogy a while back, maybe it was just part of another thread.

Great film.

I love this film. The beauty of timelapse and the other footage in this film is that it allows the viewer a chance to detach from the world for an hour or two and gain a wider perspective on how we are actually living our lives.

Watch it stoned and the effect is even more pronounced. :)

Did anyone like (not even going to try and spell them right) Powaqatsi or naqoyqatsi I have all three never got around to powaqatsi.

I've only seen the first in the trilogy (koyaanisqatsi).

Interested in seeing the others, although I never think of it when I'm actually movie shopping.

The 2nd and 3rd movies in the trilogy are okay, not nearly as good as Koyanisqatsi.

Also be sure to check out Baraka.
