how could I use korean font in vegas? I downloaded a few, but they get translated into english when I type them out in vegas. any ideas?

I had the same problem with a Japanese font a couple of years ago. I couldn't find a solution within Vegas, my workaround to create the title in a graphics program, save it as a .png file then load that into Vegas.

I do this all the time in Vegas with Japanese Kanji and Chinese Mandarin. Works fine BUT you need to enable the language (Korean) in your Regional and Language settings in Control Panel

where exactly do I enable it in Regional and Language settings? Format? Location? Keyboards and Languages or Administrative?

So you'd need to set the new language (Korean in this case), then restart your computer, and thereafter any non-Unicode characters (which is presumably what Vegas uses) would automatically display in Korean fonts? I guess that's fine if you only need one other language font, but it sound like a pain if you did lots of multilingual stuff and would need to swap all the time...

I'm on XP so.... Control Panel>Regional and Language Options>Languages tab>Details>Add>select Korean in Input Language dropdown list.

don't be an asshole.
Using hole word does not cover up someone's ignorance. Responding to an answer with four more question marks without doing a little search, is not only rude but also more like the hole you called.
