Kodak Zi8?

I picked up a Zi6 because Office Max had them on sale for $70. Pretty good pocket 720p camera. I'm not going to ditch the DVX or anything, but it's a fun little toy. If you give it enough light, it actually looks pretty good.
 
Yeah, I told him about it being all auto and probably only good with "enough" light, but he thinks that it will perform well in low-light situations and that he can get WA lenses for it and take great stills with it and... as long as it's "good enough", I suppose. :)

How do you think it compares to, say, a point n shoot still cam that can do HD? I ask b/c he wants it primarily to take with while traveling, and I'm fairly certain he'll take more pics than vids while abroad.
 
The stills are rather unimpressive. He might be better off with a cheap P&S, as you said.

Also, there's no optical zoom on this thing (just 2x digital), so that might be the deciding factor for a vacation cam.
