I just picked up a knockoff Icelight - an MTL900 from Amazon.

Its around $100 compared to $500 for an Icelight 2 but when I compared them the MTL was brighter though more magenta. Nothing that a 1/8 or 1/4 Green couldn't fix though. Uses Sony NP-F550 batts which are all over the web cheap. Worst issue was it doesn't seem you can power it off AC as I would like to use it as a backlight for interviews. The AC/DC unit seems only to be a charger though their communication about that is very confusing.
I did figure out you can use a dummy battery and an 8V DC power supply though and that will work, however you have to find a way to hold the dummy battery in (I figured a method using velcro) and then use a clamp like a Mafer to mount it. A little wanky, but for $150 altogether its a steal. Also barn doors available for $15 that you can use to cut the light or to diffuse it to very soft. The same barndoors for the icelight incidentally are $50
